Davenham Scouts honoured with double win at Community ReAwards

Date: 26th Jan 2024 Author: Mike Sinfield
We’re delighted to share that our wonderful Group Scout Leader Dave has tonight won the Lifetime Achievement Award from Community ReAwards, a local charity which acknowledges the work of volunteers. This award recognises Dave’s 38 years of dedicated scout leading, we’re lucky to have him in our group.
.
Separately, Davenham Scouts won the Youth Group Award. There was stiff competition in both categories so we were delighted to be successful in winning both.
.
We’re incredibly grateful to anyone who nominated us. While Dave’s Lifetime Achievement Award rests in her trophy cabinet, the group award will be travelling around our sections so all the young people in our group can see it.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
