About us

The Scouts are the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation; Cheshire is one of the largest Scout Counties in the UK with a total membership of over 14,000 and growing.

About Us

1st Davenham Scout Group was founded in 1930 and is located in the heart of Cheshire. We have three sections: Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, which support local young people aged 6-14 years. We have links with other local community groups including the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides as well as the village churches and school.

None of what we do would be possible without our amazing executive committee. You can meet them here.

Davenham Scouts is the proud owner of Peckmill Scout Wood on London Road in Davenham. We are able to host all sorts of activities there including section meetings, plant sales, bonfires, christmas fairs and much more besides! Our young people take pride in the land and often use section meeting slots to improve the land for themselves and future Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Projects worked on by the young people include building boundary hedges and fences, planting trees and building benches and picnic tables.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
